Adventures with Riverside Friends

Ahh. I have that pleasant feeling you get after managing to successfully realize an idea that you've had in your head. Sometimes I feel like my 'ideas' are few and far between, and often I get stuck on an idea that I just can't get out onto paper. This is one of those ideas. I've made many false starts, I think because I was thinking too much about it. It seems to be so much easier to create stuff when you're in a somewhat altered state of consciousness. Drugs and drinking aren't really for me, but sleepiness seems to work as an alternative! This one started to come together directly after stumbling out of bed and onto the puter. I think that really helped.

I'd like to print this one soon, if I'm not the only one out there who likes it! But now it's a tossup as to which two designs I print next (I have to print them two at a time). This one, Birch Forest, or My Little Town. Hmm.

I love the Riverside one the best. But (hope you don't mind me being honest) I am not too keen on the colour. I think that print would be perfect for a wall hanging and that ochre (is that the name for the colour?) wouldn't stand out as much.

love this one! great detail. between this one, birch forest, and my little town...ideally i vote for all three:) That is entirely unhelpful though. I don't know...I'm a sucker for little houses:)

For some reason your town fabric reminds me of my favorite Beauty and the Beast Song:

"Little toooown, it's a quite village, every day, like the one before, little tooooown, full of little people, waking up tooo sayyyyy..... BONJOUR! BONJOUR!"

Okay im done. lol

i vote for the little houses and if you print Riverside I will FINALLY max out my CC and buy your fabrics!

I LOVE birch forest, but think that my little town and riverside make a great pair. Save birch forest for your next run.h

So pretty! This print reminds me of a sheet of chiyogami I have with a little Japanese village on it, except my chiyogami doesn't have as much wildlife. All three designs are beautiful but My Little Town is a good companion piece for this one because they both have cute, little details that wander all throughout the print. But I love the crisp and clean look of Birch Forest.

I love this new Riverside pattern!

This and the birch trees pattern both have a magical feel.

I'd also like to see other colourways for Riverside.

This is far too fantastic! I completely understand creativity spawned from insomnia- I welcome those periods.

I was going to suggest to print the birch forest, but if you are definetely going to print the riverside..they I vote for the little houses...and save the forest for another run...make sure you do print it though...I want it for lamp shades & cushion covers :)

I LOVE your Riverside print. How would it look with 2 colours instead of 1?

Riverside would be great for children's clothes or interiors1 I love the birch forest- the fact that it is so linear is bound to be a winner with me (I like line-y things). The little house one is great too! Oh I can't pick (indecisive libra)! :)

this is such a lovely composition lara. i especially love the school of fish. :}

interesting advice, i shall have to try that sleep to puter method some time. of course i'd have to take at least 5 minutes to wash my face (can't design with eye bogies in the way).

Wow, that is a tough choice. I'd say Riverside Friends and Birth Forest. Both are lovely.
